That’s total **bleep**. The website is shoddy as **bleep**. Half of the buttons don’t work. The English used on it is worse than the scammers trying to promote it.

What a load of **bleep**. It’s clearly a cashstar website. All of you  saying it’s a dodgy looking link but it’s real, that **bleep** isn’t going to cut it here. We can see through your

It is a cashstar site, there is no one disagreeing with that.  If you go to cashstar's website you will see that they are "Merchant Solutions for Gift Card eCommerce".  They are the vendor that Dell is using for gift cards ... which is how their pre-order process appears to work.  The legitimacy of this is documented repeatedly:

A tweet from Frank Azor ("Co-founder of Alienware and VP General Manager of Alienware, Gaming  XPS Dell")
https://twitter.com/AzorFrank/status/986050815512203265

A dell.com url talking about how the pre-order pass works (which also redirects to a cashstar page):
http://www.dell.com/preorderpass

Dell's gift card page takes you to cashstar when you click buy:

And lastly, posts around the forum.

Yes, it looks sketcy.  Yes, it is a cashstar site.  Yes, Dell should find a better way to to this ... but .... it is legit!

Well, ok. I wanted to edit my preious posts to correct my statement but apparently it doesn't let me.
Still not impressed by this operation.

So a tweet from an unverified account, a link that says it’s a dell link but it isn’t, and the fact that dell sells gift cards through cash star is your proof?

Dell would not sell pre orders through a site like that, especially a site littered with grammatical errors and buttons and links that don’t work.

Nice try though. It’s been confirmed plenty of times through reps that it isn’t available anywhere.

The links are fake scam links. End of story. Do not fall for it.

If this turns out to be genuine then I'll eat my words and apologise, but this is the shadiest looking thing i've seen in a while.

Where are the specs? Whats happening wuth the info in i9 processors? Why are they doing it this way? It seems stupid. If it isn't ready then why launch it at all?

Thanks

Maybe don't toot the press release horn (the Verge, PC World, Forbes) with a solid date and then tell people that a gift card pre-order scheme is something that anyone is looking for. They could have just given the i9, 1TB, 1050Ti price and 90% of people would be fine with waiting for pre-orders to go live. This marketing snafu doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

Currently, the XPS 15-9570 is not listed in our Dell internal Training page. Until it does, I cannot provide any specifications. When it appears, I will post what I can.

I know its not your fault, but you guys are losing an astounding amount of customers over this. The most unprofessional stint i have seen in my time as a consumer.

I have been following this since the xps 15 2 in 1 announcement at CES. I haven't recieved 1 reliable answer as to when i will be able to pre-order, purchase or even what the starting price is for the 9570. Whoever is in charge of the marketing needs to re-evaluate their strategy.

I assume the person(s) that came up with this hare-brained scheme to try raise a few more bucks by selling 'preorder rights' is no longer with Dell?

The XPS 15 series is an example of very good product design and engineering, and also an example of the most incompetent marketing I have seen from a major technology company on a flagship product.

If I was an engineer on the XPS 15 team I would demand that the marketing team show up an hour early every day for a month... and clean all the engineering teams monitors, keyboards, mice etc ... and follow that up with free lunch.

For anyone involved with the marketing of this model:  next time, at least publish the specifications of the system before taking pre-orders.  Asking for prospective customers to put down $100 to pre-order a machine of unknown specification is not a smart marketing idea.
