Non stop issues with my Dell XPS 13 Plus. Help!!!

To start off, I love my Dell XPS Plus and what it is trying to do. But unfortunately the execution is awful.

This is the list of issues so far since June 21st:

- The touchpad malfunctioned: it started clicking by itself repeatedly. I could move the mouse but it kept clicking. Nothing I had could do to stop it. Had to get Dell Support to help me fix it with a BIOS change.

- The sound disappeared: had to get dell to help me fix it with another BIOS change.

- The battery takes 6 HOURS to charge!!!

- I am a software engineer and I cannot run a simple, small node server whilst listening to music as the performance of the laptop disintegrates and, for example when I type or click the mouse there is a 1 to 2 second delay.

- Now a new problem that is yet to be fixed: the left has side of the touchpad suddenly makes high pitch noises with no haptic feedback at all, and the clicks get locked unintentionally making the left hand side inoperable. Right side as normal. (Similar to this: https://www.reddit.com/r/DellXPS/comments/vqv1jt/dell_xps_13_plus_touchpad_haptic_feedback/)

I have contacted Dell and they said they will get back to me but no luck.

Anyone else had these problems?

I love the 'idea' of the laptop but Im outside of my 30 day return but Im getting to the point that after paying for a premium product, with these repeated issues, Ive lost faith in Dell and I want to return it as I've had enough.

What BIOS revision are you currently on? Have you done the latest touchpad firmware update?

Have you been doing all BIOS updates with direct AC power only (like only power adapter not docking or battery power)? There have been issues related to the BIOS updates because of this. Also did you update the trackpad firmware?

Hey thanks for you help dude.

I ran the Dell Support Assist application last night and I think that updates the firmware of the hardware? Is there another way?

And yes, when the BIOS was updating I plug into the AC power cable supplied as it said not to allow the laptop to shut down during update. But the battery still had charge in it when I plugged it in. If this is an issue it just ads to the long lists of issues people are having with this model. Really not cool for a premium product at a premium price.

Sorry for the wait on my reply. Which issues are you still having currently? The 1.7.1 BIOS has been causing lots of issues, but it could be more than that.

Hi mate, not to worry.

I contacted Dell and listed all the issues that I've had since June and , fair play to them, even though well outside the 30 days return period, they have agreed to a full refund and are collecting the laptop in the next few days. I just don't trust the longevity of this product anymore and cannot be arsed with continuously trouble shooting either.

Thanks for your help tho.

Hello: I have a Dell xps13 plus 9320. I am having problems with the touchpad / sometimes not working, sometimes

starts to click itself. After closing the lid and opening it again, sometimes several times, the problem disappear.

and also it does not help by connecting a mouse : when the touch pad is not working, the connected mouse neither !
