Permanent damage XPS 9550 screen
Hi,
I have an XPS 15 9550. A few weeks ago I turned off my laptop and put it in my bag over the night. When I woke up I noticed that the laptop had been on for the entire night and was now burning hot. Since then there's been marks on the screen in the same shape as the keyboard keys. They can't be removed and its not dead or stuck pixels (can be seen when laptop is off). Seems like the plastic on the screen has been damaged.

Is there anyway to fix this?
Is it possible to only change the damaged part of the screen? Replacing the whole screen seems to be pretty expensive.
I appreciate any help that I can get.

Even if you can find the part, the odds that you could separate the polarizer (which is glued to the screen) without destroying the LCD are very slim. And though at one time, you could find a shop to do the job -- that was when LCDs were hundreds to thousands of dollars -- at current prices, the repair makes no economic sense.

The only repair is to replace the screen - even if you could replace the polarizer, the added labor cost would exceed the cost of the screen.

Hi,
Isnt there a way to get the polarizer and exchange it by yourself?
