Question about Password Reset Disk
Possible to make a working password reset disk after forgetting the password? I have two computers at home one is XPS (password is lost) and a DIY PC. Can I make a reset disk on PC and use it to reset password on XPS?

The Windows password can be removed by Windows password reset disk, about how to make one,you can look up some video guides on the Internet, which will teach you how to create a password reset disk and use it to reset Windows password.

Welcome to the Dell Community @azmaniso
Sorry but unless the passwords are the same for both laptops it will not work.
Power-on password or Windows Login password???
Best regards,

There are bootable tools like this one that use a Linux kernel to clear out the password from the Windows user database while it's offline, but you need to somewhat know what you're doing in order to use this, and it won't work on all hardware setups. Fyi if the ability for someone to do this worries you, it's worth considering a) locking down your BIOS to prevent booting from external devices and securing the BIOS setup interface itself with an admin password, and/or b) encrypting your hard drive, which makes these types of tools unusable without knowing the decryption password.

The steps are a bit complex for me as I am not a tech savy. I will try to follow the guidelines and see if it works.
