Question about Windows 10 Password Reset Disk
I made a password reset disk on my XPS 13 as I don't have good memories. I inserted the USB into the laptop and click "forgot password" option at login screen. But the USB is not recognized as a valid disk. I don't understand why this happened.

If you formatted the flash drive at some point, that would have removed the password recovery file on the drive. Going forward, you might want to consider using a password manager like LastPass. It runs as a browser plugin so it can autofill your username and password on websites, but it has a "Secure Notes" feature that you can use to store random notes in your vault, such as passwords to things other than websites. You still have to remember (or securely store) the password to the password manager, of course, but if you remember that one password, you'll have access to all of your other passwords. LastPass designed their solution so that even LastPass can't access your data, and they've provided detailed technical information about how they've implemented core aspects of their security design, which is the reason I'm willing to use them, as are many security researchers. The "conventional wisdom" is that it's a bad idea to store all of your eggs in one basket, but if it's a well-designed basket and you protect it with a long and unique password, it can be a valid strategy. In fact, it can even be BETTER because when you have another tool to remember all of your passwords, it's much easier to use unique passwords on different websites, which is much better than reusing the same password all over the Internet but something that most people don't do because they become impossible to remember.

Thanks for the suggestion. Will use a password manager to record the passwords but needs to fix the issue this time.

If i were you,i would try the Windows 10 password reset disk to another computer,if it still doesn't work, you'd better make new one (Windows password reset disk) as soon as possible. But if it works, please try using Ophcrack/NT password recovery tool or check your laptop.
