Solved xps 15 adapter not recognized

Struggled with this a second time after replacing the charging port about six months prior.  After ensuring it wasn't the port again I resigned myself to turning my laptop into a paperweight but then found this on Tom's Guide.

Uninstalling the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery driver and rebooting got it charging again!  So happy.

My symptom was when you plugged the charger in the front charging light would come on for 3 sec, then go out.
