Sound not working on XPS 15 9520
Hi,
I'm having a lot of problems with audio on my XPS 15 9520. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Now it doesn't work when trying to play a youtube video, and I tried both of the speakers output but none of them works.
I also have problems with when I connect my Boss headphones sometimes that it doesn't realize it.
I googled and found this driver https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-eu/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=319jh&lwp=rt but if I download it, it says its older than the one I currently have so don't think I should install it.
What should I do here?

Right-click the Volume icon in your Taskbar and click on sounds. Click on the Playback, and right-click on your speaker device. Then check Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices. Right-click on your speaker and select Enable.

It's just another issue with this POS laptop. I don't remember how I fixed it last time, because I had tried so many solutions before one worked. This time I went to System>Sound>Properties and changed Audio enhancements from "Off" to "Device Default Effects" and the speakers started working. For the future, the best solution for all your issues with this laptop is to Never Buy Dell Again. Good luck

Hi! I figured out the problem that I was having with my audio that was the same thing.
I was uninstalling and installing new audio drivers left and right doing all the audio enhancement things, and the audio simply would not work from the speakers, I thought they were blown out for months, I finally just went to settings -> sound then the output subsection click on your speakers (realtek(r)) and press "Don't allow" then "allow" immediately following it and your audio should work.

I was able to solve this by opening the "MaxAudioPro" app, under the "Playback" section swapping the "Select Output Device" to headphones and back to Internal Speakers, audio on XPS started working.

Its really dumb because the entire time Windows Sound shows speakers not headphones and everything. I had no idea this app existed before this issue.

@SiY11 Wow that fixed it for me. Many thanks.
I have a XPS 15 9500 running Windows 11 that had been working fine for 4+ years, then abruptly stopped producing sound for some reason. I tried various other tricks and couldn't get it working, until trying yours. I never even knew there's this MaxxAudio Pro app installed on this machine.
