Square Box Around Mouse on XPS 9320 Plus

Update 11/3/23

Spoke with Dell TS today.  Every time this occurred, the mouse touchpad would stop working.  He disabled the touchscreen through the device driver, and the problem would go away.  If he re-enabled it, the square would immediately reappear and the mouse would not work, even though the touchscreen is not touched.  We're leaving the touchscreen disabled so that I can use the laptop.  Dell is sending a technician to replace the laptop touchscreen on Monday.  Fingers crossed that this is the solution!

There is a square which appears around the mouse and causes the mouse to freeze, so I have to restart the laptop.  The laptop will work for several hours before it happens again.  Sometimes, there is a gray foggy circle around the mouse instead of the box.  It always appears in the same location on the screen.  I first noticed the behavior on October 20th.  I have removed any app that was installed on October 19 forward.  And I applied the Dell fix for the camera update which caused that to stop being recognized on October 24.  I have the latest BIOS, the latest Touchpad Firmware, the latest display driver.  I am using a bluetooth mouse, but have turned off bluetooth and disconnected the mouse and the problem still exists.  I have scanned for malware & viruses, looked in the task manager for an unusual service or process running. I have looked at the Events Log, and do not see any errors which are causing this.  I have run sfc /scan and DISM.  I have run Dell hardware diagnostics and there are no problems with the touchpad or display.  However, the touchscreen test didn't recognize any touch during the tests, but the touchscreen works fine in normal use.  I have removed devices drivers, mouse and touchscreen and the problem persists.  Today, the laptop worked for 6 hours before the square appeared.  Any ideas or anyone else having this problem?

I may be mistaken but that look suspiciously like you have accessibility enabled for your pointer.

@bacillus1 Thank you for your response.  It does look like that, but if you move your mouse to the right and select one of the other options, the new option now becomes a box with a square around it.  This happens when the touchscreen has not been touched.  I have now made another change and toggled the "Touch Indicator" to OFF, as shown in your screenshot.  I'm waiting to see if I experience the problem.
