Studio XPS 1340 max RAM info needed

Question

Hi all,

I am having problems with finding out what the max RAM for my laptop is.

I have an old Studio XPS (bought in 2009, Vista 32 bit) which has 4GB of RAM. I get conflicting info saying on one hand that I may go up to 8GB or that 4GB is the max.

Anyone knows, please, if 8GB is possible? If so, is it true that the memory would downclock to the speed of 1066MHz?

This information from the support page for that model. So 1066 RAM and 4 GB total. As you stated, that is an old system. Connectors two internally-accessible SO-DIMM sockets Capacities 512 MB, 1 GB, and 2 GB Memory type 1066 MHz DDR3 SO-DIMM Memory configuration possible 1 GB, 1.5 GB, 2 GB, 3 GB, and 4 GB
