Wifi drops when external screen is connected

Question

I am glad to read that i am not crazy and that others have the same problem. Just bought brand new Inspiron 7490 and brand new external screen and have the exact same problem like others. Internet drops when external screen is connected to the laptop.

Can Dell provide solution for this? it is obvious that HDMI port has issues. I do not want to regret having purchased Dell.

Connect the external monitor when the laptop is off. Then windows will check the hardware connected at boot. It then should not interfere with wifi. Good computer practice is to turn off the computer before attaching or removing hardware.
