Windows 11 Greatly Improves Facial Recognition and more

After the app everyone is familiar with confirmed, very unsurprisingly, that my fairly new XPS 17 9700 qualified - it's pretty tricked out - for Windows 11, I downloaded the upgrade. My hope was that 11 would solve certain annoying glitches in the performance of my laptop that were, for me, pretty annoying. Putting aside the impressive cosmetic and functional improvements the upgrade inaugurated, which pleased me profoundly, I'd hoped that Windows 11 would significantly improve the performance of the facial recognition program. I don't want to belabor my personal facial recognition story with Windows 10, which I updated religiously. Thus far, and the download was yesterday, I'm one very happy customer insofar as facial recognition is concerned. It's worked perfectly thus far. I'll add that it's also caused the Windows Update utility to work seamlessly, Storage Services too. Before, the program would for reasons that escape me routinely disable both programs, forcing me to use the Services utility to tweak things. All that is fixed. While I've just started to live with my XPS 17 9700 as operated by this new OS, not only am I more or less ecstatic with what I'm experiencing, I am beginning to suspect that the online world is unjustifiably and unfairly belittling the improvements 11 "installs" in countless arcane ways. As all of you know very well, it will take ages for the truth to unfold regarding 11, pro and con. My gut tells me that 11 is a greater upgrade in OS performance for the Windows population than is generally recognized. However, I hasten to add, with bells on, that unlike many if not most of you, I know next to nothing about computers. Still, being pretty old, I literally lived every step of the birth and the evolution of the digital age. For those of you who know the movie War Games and recall the scene where Matthew Broderick visits his uber-nerdy friends in the computer lab, I date to even before that. I bought my first XPS, the one with the pretty, faux wood top, in about 02, when Apple was, "you must be joking," or who? I'm betting, - we'll see - that 11 may truly be something. Someone should maybe ask Bill G. For the moment, it's easy to say that this OS just works, and definitely looks great. Definitely worth considering, for those of you who own suitable kit. This is also real fast and stable. And think of all the updates that will come. Actually, this may prove to be, Dell may hope so, a material answer, partially, to the commotion engendered by Apple Silicon. This is prompting memories of when XP rolled out; that was a big one. I recall it vividly.
