Windows doesn’t start in normal mode

Question

Hi all, My laptop doesn’t start windows in normal mode and shows a blue screen. It still works in safe mode. I tried running check disk and it’s fails citing error due to a recent installed application and i never installed any. I appreciate any help to get my laptop up and running. Thanks, Pav

Hi Mary, Thanks for your response. I have not added any hardware neither did I change any settings. Can u tell me How can I check in device manager for bad drivers? I am using xps L502x with windows 7 home premium.

What model XPS and operating system? Check Device Manager for bad hardware or drivers. Software might have installed an automatic update. Did you add hardware or change any settings? Check Task Manager and disable any unrecognized or suspicious items on the Startup tab.
