XPS 13 9310, random Bluetooth mouse lag issues
Hi Guys,
I'm desperately searching for a solution to fix my bluetooth mouse lagg issues. When scrolling or moving my mouse the cursor just randomly laggs sometimes and just freezes sometimes for 1 second or more and then teleports to it's last location. Same issue when scrolling after my hand/mouse is idle for about a second. It's just super annoying and a ridiculous issue for a $2000 ultrabook. I can't even make proper and efficient powerpoints for work as I just fail clicking the right spots all the time.
Searched all the internet for solutions.. called for 2 hours with Dell Support, Installed mouse drivers, tried different mouses, Installed all driver updates, turned off some power management settings for some components in device manager... unfortunately nothing helps regarding my situation. And turning of a lot of those power management settings makes my battery life even worse. That's why I'm dropping this here, hope you guys can help me out.
Also have a little hope that Dell take responsibility to fix this themselves with some (driver) updates. I mean, come on!

Thank you! We have received the required details. We will work towards a resolution. In the meantime, you may also receive assistance or suggestions from the community members.
The Bluetooth device entering sleep mode is the expected behavior as per Intel design amd Microsoft Modern Standby. You can try the registry tweak below, but you must back up the registry before making any changes.
* Click Windows icon
* Type regedit
* Click Registry Editor
* Click Yes if asked
* Navigate to the below location in the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\VID_8087&PID_0026\5&2816b067&0&10
* Click the folder Device Parameters
* Double click DeviceSelectiveSuspended. Change the "Value data" to 0
* Double click SelectiveSuspendEnabled. Change the "Value data" to 0
* Double click SelectiveSuspendSupported. Change the "Value data" to 0
* Exit the registry saving changes and retest

I upgraded to Windows 11 and have not had the mouse lag issue since. I had the same issue and Dell's solution ~4 weeks ago was to tell me their could replace the motherboard in December when they get the part in...which was unacceptable and I told them to cancel it.

Hi Ro,
Nice to hear that it's fixed in Windows 11. However, how did you already upgrade to Windows 11, because it's still not available on my XPS 13 9310?

I have the same issue on my Dell Inspiron and Win11 update did not resolve. I think it may be the Intel Bluetooth driver update issued mid September 21. Haven’t figured out how to rollback to verify as the rollback button is greyed out in driver window

I have the same problem, but I have no such entry in the registries as you describe. And it is already 17.1.2022, the problem has not been solved and I have the latest updates. On a 3000 usd laptop it's bugging me as if it was a 400usd device. I hope you're joking...

yamatech,
How long have you been facing this issue for?
Was there any hardware or software change on the system recently?
Have you noticed any recent Windows updates?
Please boot into safemode with networking and test if the touchpad is working fine.
Is there any difference in touchpad behavior with or without AC adapter?
Does an external mouse work fine?

Just purchased an XPS 13 9315 with Windows 11. Ran all the Dell, Windows and Intel updates. Made the registry changes given but still has issues with Bluetooth mouse lagging, skipping, intermittent response.

If using WiFi, try using 5Ghz Access-Point (leaving 2.4ghz for Bluetooth).
On a Toshiba laptop the other day ... the BT mouse seemed to work better when fully charged and at least 1-foot away from laptop.
