XPS 13 9370 bios will not flash

I am currently at Bios release 1.15. I have tried everything to flash the bios. This includes:

1. Trying to use the Support Assist app                                                                                                                                   Nothing happens, the file executes, device reboots, no change, no error message                                                             2. Used F12, saved the exe to a usb drive, selected the flash bios section and then selected the file, went through the defaults, no changes, no errors. Also tried to upgrade to previous versions before getting to the latest.                              3. Used the Dell Diag application to create a bootable usb, booted to dos, tried to run the exe, received a "file will not run in dos" error.

I am at my wits end at this point. This is to fix a security risk, as well as some functional issues I am having with the LCD monitor. Does anyone have any idea what is keeping the bios from falshing?

This is how I had to update my Bios. I used the Bios recovery tool. The instructions are located here at this url; https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000132453/how-to-recover-the-bios-on-a-dell-computer-or-tablet About halfway down the page, there is a section that shows how to use the tool based on the device type. You have to follow the instructions exactly as they are written, no shortcuts. Once I went through this, the Bios flashed to the latest version. I ma not sure why none of the other procedures wouldn't work, but this one did.

I have had problems updating the Bios several times on a couple of systems.  It seems getting it through Windows will work when a direct download will not.  Exactly when your update will show up in the optional drivers section, hard to say.
