XPS 15 9520 Minimum Power Input
XPS 15 9520
I am looking to get a USB-C docking station for my XPS 15 9520. The XPS 15 came with a 130 W power supply and can also work with a 90 W power supply. I know that if I put a 65 W power supply in my XPS, it complains that there is not enough power. I want a docking station that won't give me that problem. Some docking stations claim to give me 85 W to the computer. Will that be enough? I guess my question is what it the minimum power that the XPS 15 9520 needs so that it won't complain?

Safest bet is a Dell USB-C docking station -- not a third party docking station, where you may have to go through multiples to find one that works.
Presumably your system has the discrete GPU option, in which case it does need the 130W to run at full speed. And only a Dell docking station is guaranteed to run that power rating.
