XPS 15 WILL NOT TURN ON
I just bought this laptop last year for specific purposes I have not had time to do until now, so this to me is basically a brand new computer, so imagine my frustration when I try to turn it on, the keyboard lights up for a few seconds and then NOTHING. Anyone have any ideas about this? It's a shame, companies don't seem to stand behind their products these days, yiu just get to vent in a community forum...

If the system has been sitting for the better part of if not over a year, the battery is probably completely run down. Disconnect it from the mainboard, hold the power button for 30 sec and then reconnect the battery. Plug in the system and see if it'll power up.

I have been using it pretty regularly for the last couple months and have seen no indication of a problem.
It doesn't look like the battery is removeable without taking the whole back off, I guess I can try that, and if it doesn't work then what does that mean?
Looking back to when I first pulled it out of the box, when I saw the charging port was just a flimsy USB C port, the warning sirens went off and I foresaw terrible trouble ahead. Seems like a common issue.
Thank you for responding, I will try this!

It could mean a number of things. As for the charging port, USB-C/Thunderbolt charging is pretty much universal now, outside of high-end gaming and workstation-class notebooks that need more power than a Thunderbolt port can handle.
