XPS 9560 NVIDIA control panel crashes

My XPS 9560 recently updated with Dell drivers for graphics:

Intel(R) HD Graphics 630 Version 27.20.100.9171 08/01/2021

&

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 27.21.14.6231 08/04/2021

and also

Citrix Indirect Display Adapter 12.40.44.247 23/01/2019.

I can no longer open the NVIDIA control panel. It opens briefly, then crashes. My GTX 1050 also seems to over heat and crashes when stress tested. I'm very reluctant to install non dell drivers (not direct from Intel and NVIDA) as i've done this in the past and nothing works then, i know it needs the Dell drivers to work. Anyone else having the same issues?

Welcome to the Dell Community @Dale12345

You may want to try and reinstall the original Dell customized application for your system.

NVIDIA Graphics Control Panel Application:

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=c59rn&oscode=wt64a&productcode=xps-15-9560-laptop

Download and copy to your desktop.

Go to "Add and remove programs" and uninstall the NVIDIA app.

Reboot and install the one you saved to the desktop.

Best regards,

You are using modern NVIDIA control panel from windows store right ??

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/nvidia-control-panel/9nf8h0h7wmlt

Right  click on it on start menu and choose app settings > RESET

Last option uninstall the control panel and reinstall from store.

Thanks @XPS_Man , yes using that control panel. Just tried the reset option. It did reset (asked me for allow it to run), but still crashed after a few seconds.

Hi @U2CAMEB4ME , thank for the help. Just tried that, but still no better. Control panel crashes after a few seconds.

However, after uninstalling & re-installing I can now again use VTK rendering in ICY software, and can access the 1050 GPU from Fiji for gpu processing with or without the control panel installed. I'm not sure the panel does anything useful? Would be nice to force use of the 1050 GPU for ICY tho.

I had the same problem after installing the latest updates from Dell for the NVIDIA drivers and resetting the control panel app solved the problem for me. Thanks!
