So, I have an XPS 13 that I bought years ago that I use for all personal stuff. Work gave me a docking station and two monitors to work from home during different periods. I was given a Lenovo thinkpad usb type c docking station that matches my work laptop. The Lenovo work laptop connects easily and I can get the two monitors to work great with the docking station. 
as for my xps, not so much. When I plug it in via the usb c, it recognizes the docking station, I’m able to use the keyboard and mouse attached but it can’t find the monitors for some reason. The docking station can also charge it. Why isn’t the display able to find it?
