Aurora R10, crashing during game usage

Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R10

Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R10

Hi all,

My grandson got a refurb Alienware Ryzen Edition R10 for his Christmas and he loves to play Fortnite. Every single time after he plays Fortnite for a little while, the PC hangs (brief BSOD, sound hanging) and reboots. I have worked with DELL support and am awaiting Third line support, but I was going to check if anyone is experiencing the same issue.

Initially, I thought the issue was only using Fortnite, but other big games such as Rocket league, Assassin's Creed Odyssey also induce a crash

Every single time the error occurs, I have found an event in the event log as shown below. Does anyone have any similar experiences and what did they do to fix it?

Click on details tab so we can see the details. Is this a refurb directly from Dell, or from another source?

Is this an air cooled system, or liquid cooled? What are the overall temperatures of the video card and CPU around the time it crashes?

Hi,  the system is air cooled.  How would I check the temperature of the video card and CPU? The crash is sudden.

CPU and GPU temperature can be displayed with Alienware Command Center application.

If you are using air cooling, make sure the area around the R10 is well ventilated and as cool as possible. Air cooling is not the best for these systems, especially higher powered ones.

For something like this a dump file is written in the C:\Windows\Minidump  directory.

use  Windbg preview ( win store) to get some hints.

Could be overclocking (cpu, xmp overclocking over, under voltage)

What are the system specs: CPU, graphics card, PSU, RAM?

Adding the AIO liquid cooling should be a fun project for you and your grandson.
