There seems to be no one home at Dell and then when they are they pass the problem over to someone whom you can never reach. I am trying to purchase a laptop for my wife's birthday. To save some money I purchased $400 of Dell Electronic Gift Cards online from a card broker. All the cards are legit and I checked the value on this website. Unfortunately I have 16  cards worth $25 each. By the way I do this quite often and have never had a problem with other company's cards.

I start the purchase and choose to use gift cards as my method of payment. I enter the first card's numbers and it goes fine. Then instead of returning to the gift card section is goes to the credit card section and tells me I must pay the rest with a regular cc. Which means I get to use only $25 of my $400 in gift cards and I have to pay the rest, so I will have given Dell roughly twice what I should for this computer. 

Next, I use the Chat feature on the page.Long story, short the gentleman from India tells me I can only use 3 cards for the purchase which again does me no good. Then he says that you can 'club' the cards and put them together. I said, "Great, How do I do this?'  He sends me the page and I go there and it indicates you can do this but you have to call Dell and it could take 3 bus days. This ruins my wife's birthday surprise so in one sense I'm <ADMIN NOTE: Profanity removed as per TOU>again.

Any way I decide I have to call so I'm not out $375. I call, wait 15 minutes and someone answers. I ask my question and the line dies and goes back to the original menu. I called 4 more times, put on hold for 15 mins, and then back to original menu every time. What is wrong here. I am so angry. I went into customer support and there was no way to contact anyone, since I didn't have the computer yet. One possibility was to respond to suggestions about the site. Tried that, typed this up and bam...it went away.

So this is my last ditch effort to see if someone at Dell might read this and answer my question.....WHY CAN'T I USE THE GIFT CARDS I PURCHASED TO BY A LITTLE LAPTOP FROM A COMPANY THAT ALREADY HAS THE MONEY AHEAD OF TIME. WHY IS THIS SO HARD AND WHY NO INSTRUCTIONS ON CONSOLIDATING GIFT CARDS.

THIS IS A COMPUTER COMPANY....YOU SHOULD MAKE THIS EASY.

AN ANSWER WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
