Remote Power On
I like to boot up my DimensionXPS P__c MT just by remotley apply power to the computer without having to press the ON button. Is that possible? Or do I have to solve this matter by connecting a external startup device in parallell with the ON button?

Hi bandis,
Not sure I understand how remote you wish it? Below may or may not be what you are looking for.
This works on the Dimension 8200 using XP for people who turn their system off with a power strip or Surge Protector.
Right after the computer starts and just as soon as F2 appears at the top right of the screen press F2.
This takes you to System Setup.
Scroll down to AC Power Recovery with the arrow key.
I set my computer to ON.. The default setting is "Last".
Now after Windows shuts down, I shut off the main power switch on my desk power panel, that kills my computer, monitor, sound system, printer and scanner. The next morning I turn on the one switch and all my equipment starts. The same procedure would apply to a switch on a Surge Protector.
Here is my Desk Power Panel.

Hi bandis,
Your welcome.
I might mention when using the ON power setting, and then you have a power failure your computer will come back on. That is not good when the power just flicks off and on several times.
I corrected that problem by installing a holding relay that will drop open on a power dip and has to be manually reset with the push button on my power panel before it will allow power to pass to the computer.
