Firmware downgrade to upgrade
Hi Guys,
I have an issue and I think the only way to resolve it is a firmware downgrade.
I have a EQL group that has 2 existing PS6000s in a pool running 5.0.5 and we bought a PS6100 that is running 5.1.1.
I want the PS6100 in the same group but a different pool. at the moment I am unable to get it to work in the group as it comes back with 2 alerts:
Priority "Estimated
Time Detected" Duration Status Alerts for group LoGo-SanGrp01
Warning 03/12/2012 04:57 8 hr 2 m. Active Warning: Member SAN06 network port cannot be reached. Unable to obtain network performance data for the member.
And:
Priority "Estimated
Time Detected" Duration Status Alerts for group SanGrp01
Warning 03/12/2012 05:08 8 hr 2 m. Active Group members are running different firmware versions.
I can't find a definitive answer yet but my guess is that it won't join the group because its firmware is too high? I believe I need to downgrade it to 5.0.5 and add it to the group then I can re upgrade it to 5.1.latest?
Its worth mentioning that both the ps6000s are in use so I can't reboot either to do a firmware upgrade. The intention was to use the new unit to allow me to remove each unit from the pool for an upgrade before the 6100 went into production. This is the way we have done this in the past without issue.
Anyone any knowledge on this?
Thanks in advance
Ja
