I purchased a Dell Inspiron 3668 with a Realtek driver and a MaxxAudio sound manager as part of the standard set-up. For a while it worked reasonably well but now, after Windows and Driver updates (and my warranty) I have a problem. Basically Windows 10 sees all 6 surround sound speakers and can run test sound through them all however although recognising a 5.1 set-up, Maxxaudio plays everything in stereo. Altering and toggling on/off upmix /midnight features and the equaliser make no difference to the sound quality whatsoever. In short, it does nothing but channel all sound through 2 speakers. What can I do to get it working again in simple terms??
