switch audio out to microphone jack?

Yeah, how can I switch the audio configuration in my 5100 so I can plug headphones into the microphone jack and hear audio?

I can feel the headphone jack is broken and cracked when I insert headphones, so I know it needs replacing, but I need a quicker solution.

Any help you be great!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm 99% sure that switching them through software can't be done.  Also as far as I know this connector is soldered to the motherboard so repair wouldn't be a simple matter.  If your still in warranty Mb replacement may be your best option if its clear that the damage isn't resultant of abuse.  If that doesn't work I hope you know someone who's very proficient with a soldering iron, or better yet get a USB or PCMCIA audio card.

hmmm. Can you tell me more about these, specifically what I can do with the USB port?

thanks for the info, though.

Phillips also makes a usb sound card.

the extigy and the phillips sound card are 5.1 surround, i think the audigy is also 5.1 surround.  I am looking into getting an extigy so i can use my 5.1 logitec z 640 speakers to their fullest.
