Optiplex 745 randomly 'freezing'
I've got this Optiplex 745 that the company bought back in the beginning of December. It has been working great up till about 2 days ago. I noticed one morning that the computer monitor was off (amber light on power button). I tried turning it on, but still no green light. I moved the mouse, pressed the keys on the keyboard thinking the computer was in standby or hibernation, but no dice. I just turned off the computer by holding down the power button and then turned it back on.
Just today the computer screen went blank on me while I was in an Excel spreadsheet editing it. I noticed the monitor was off, but the computer was actually still on. I tried everything to get the computer back on, but couldn't get it to respond. I shut off the computer and tried to turn it back on, only to hear a series of beeps. I pulled the power plug, then plugged it back in only to hear the beeps again. I continued turning the power off and on, and spontaneously the computer came back up and worked for a couple hours. Now the computer has 'frozed' gone off on me 2 more times and it seems to be getting worse.
I spoke to tech support and he told me to run the diagnostics from the utility partition to see if that would report a problem. I did that, but nothing failed. Anybody have any clues as to what is going wrong?
And no, I don't have any Symantec Product installed, but I do have McAfee Antivirus installed.
