Will this card work?
I want to replace my problem-prone 8800GT with a new card. Will a 9800GT work in my XPS 400? I see it has the same power requirements as that of the 8800GT (400W PSU.) I know the PSU thing has been beaten to death, but I have to ask because EVGA wouldn't replace my 8800GT, which has anti-aliasing and artifact problems since I got it. After asking what my PSU amps were, they said it couldn't handle the card and that that's why I see artifacts and aliasing problems. Only thing I can think of is that it's just the architecture of the 8800GT, or I got two faulty cards (my RMA was just someone else's returned card.)
So, again, can the PSU handle the 9800GT? Any other suggestion for a new card?
Here is what I was considering: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4209965&csid=_21
For: XPS 400 w/ XP SP3, Pentium D 830 3Ghz, 2GB Ram 667mhz, two optical drives and media reader, PCI-E slot.
Please help, thanks.
