Audio Stutters

This is ridiculous! I really need some assistance.

I've had my laptop for only 2 weeks, Dell Inspiron 9200 dual core 2GHz w/ 1Gig RAM, 256 Video, and only have a few things loaded on it...

but since I have owned it, I have had problems with audio and video stuttering.

There is no way that I should have to just accept that this computer isn't capable of simply playing regular MP3's. I shouldn't have to go through hours of disabling programs, reconfiguring, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers just to get a song to play without it stuttering randomly every 5 to 10 seconds.

There has to be a some sort of simple solution to play audio off the hard drive, or video off YouTube, or video from my DVD player without having a constant irritating stutter.

Please help, because everything else with this computer runs great, and I really do like what I have purchased, and really don't want to be driven nuts by such a pesky little issue as this.

(I'm to this point of complaining because I cannot believe there isn't a simple answer to one of the most simple processes on this system that should be MORE THAN CAPABLE of playing a song hiccup-free)
