Good Afternoon,  my problem is with W2K on a C610 laptop.  I've had this problem with many other laptops in my network.  I can use DHCP and release and renew IPs just fine.  The big problem is when I go into my Local Area Connection properties TCP/IP is missing.  I know it's set up because of DHCP.  If I used DHCP constantly it wouldn't matter but we (Marines) deploy a lot and I have to assign static ips every once in a while.  I've heard around that it could possibly be a registry problem but I can't find it online.  What I have tried:  Adding TCP/IP Protocol (Error:"Could not add the requested component. The error is: The system cannot find the file specified.");  Install latest NIC drivers; Remove NIC card drivers and reinstall.      If anybody has any more ideas I would appreciate the knowledge.  Thank you, Ben McClintock.
