I have a Dell PC (Diminsions) running XP.....  I didn't shut down the other day, following reinstalling some software for PC Camera and there had to be a power cut in the middle of the installation....

didn't start properly - goes straight to a blue screen, with white writining with message "Unfortuantely, sorry for inconvenience, the process has been aborted to protect your computer...... restart press f8 , start in safe mode and return your system to safe point using the (can't remember correct term, but done once before) when you can reutrn the system to a couple of days ago for exmaple??

 

Anyway, when I do exactly as it says "safe mode" selected it just goes back to the blue screen again and there's no way out.

 

I've done the start up, press F12 immediately and tried to "repair" the drive, that doesn't work, again jsut goes to the blue screen again.....  All I can remember (I'm at work now) from last night is at the top the message said something abou error with boot??? and at the bottom said something about BIOS???
