I just recently took over someone's computer from work and when I type in certain business websites are ones pertaining to work, some adult sites pop up as an option in my address window on Internet Explorer. I did the whole deleting history, cookies, IE files, computer cleanup. When I got to IE options in Control Panel, I look at the Home Page part..........enter my desired homepage for now and those 3 links that appear in my IE address bar pop up as an option. Is there any way I can delete them and how?
try deleting everything from your temporary files. tools > internet options > delete files >click offline content also. If this doesnt help you, tell me
Download Ad-Aware and spybot. After, go to zonelabs.com and get zone alarm. Its an anti popup and hacker and the related software. They won't rid of the important programs. Just suspicious ones.
I'm not familiar with "cleaning" programs. Am I in danger of things being deleted or lost forever by using a program like that? Thanks in advance for the help :)

Before you worry about the following, scan for spyware and remove it.
Just check Temporary Internet Files, Cookies, and History. Leave everything else unchecked.
Analyze, then run cleaner.
If you are really worried, you can always delete Cookies and History manually.
You'll have to go to start--Run--- Type in "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings"
(username is your login name)
open "history", and keep opening subfolders, and delete all the internet sites.
Go back to Temporary internet files. Delete all the files (you won't be able to delete index.dat)
Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\username" (replace "username" with your your login name)
open the "cookies" folder. Delete all the cookies you do not want to keep. You cannot delete index.dat while logged in to the account.
Good luck. You can always set a restore point in System Restore before doing the above.
