I own a dimension xps generation 2 desktop it came with a maxtor ata 133 80gb hdd due to viruses the maxtor failed and is no longer operational. I installed a seagate ultra ata100 200gb hdd but I was unable to back up any files from the maxtor before it failed. When I partition the seagate using NTFS I get the message NTLDR is missing cntrl+alt+delete to restart and when I partition it using FAT I get the message no OS found insert setup disk the software that came with my comp says already installed on your comp for reinstall only microsoft windows xp home edition wih service pack 1a I also have the resouce cd and others needed my question is can I use the reinstall cds to install windows on a new clean hard drive and if so how? please advise thank you
