a dimension 2100 hangs on multi-file copy task
with a complete loss of control. the only option
is to pull the plug.

otherwise the system appears to function well.

this system is running under w2k pro sp4 with rollup

dell's support page offers service tag lookup, but
doesn't accept the full service tag number (opera
9.50 and ie 6, sp1).

dell's support page notes 2 bios updates are available
but fails to mention anything about what they are for.

a search argument of "hangs" run against these
forums returns 32,000+ hits, but i am unsuccessful
in filtering to file copy problems.

does anyone know of a resolution to this problem?
