How do I use a Flashdrive?
i
have Windows Me ( yeah I know... :smileysad: and I am trying to save "My Documents" on it. I bought a 2GB Flash drive. I tried to save files on it and I can't. Ther is no "Save AS"
Also the computer keeps saying it cant be foprmatted. I am so frustrated. I am trying to save my files to put on the new computer. My CD-Rom does not work. I just got the new XPS 410 and I want to transfer my important files.
Someone please help!!!! :smileyindifferent:

FYI, some large flash drives will not work on older Win 98 or ME systems due to the limtation of the bios even if you the drivers for the flash drive.SisLadybug

Locate the files listed above, highlight, right click and select extract. If memory serves they can be extracted to the ME directory or folder. Most ME computer had two (2) 1.1 USB ports. Newer computers have two or more 2.0 USB ports. If your 2gb flashdrive is 1.1 and 2.0 compliant it should work. You can also purchase a 2.0 USB port card for the ME computer. The cost of such a card is usally around $15 - 20 dollars. Having both machines with a 2.0 port will make file transfer faster.
