I excorcised vista from my XPS 410 and installed XP pro due to performance and stability issues. I now have a very fast reliable machine that multitasks very well, that's what I paid big $ for. This machine took a huge performance hit with vista installed. I could not out perform a 5 year old first generation Pentium 4 machine that it was supposed to replace. XP is nowhere near obsolete since it will be supported by Microsoft until 2014. I see no reason to ever install vista on this machine again. Why cripple a good computer with a poorly designed operating system just for some eye candy?
