DVD for XP media home edition is not recognized in boot sequence

Question

I have a Dell XPS 400 with two 160 GB Seagate drives which died. I replaced them with two Western Digital 320 Caviar Blue drives. Raid 0 is the original configuration for the xp Home edition operating system. Tried to boot from the Windows XP DVD which is my second disc drive but the DVD is not in my boot sequence. How can I have the computer recognize the DVD drive without having to move the hardware. Please help?

It has to be the upper drive which is the master. The xp disk is a cd, not a dvd. Use that to boot and you should be OK.

The operating system disc that Dell sent me is a Reinstallation DVD microsoft windows sp media center Version 2205 with update rollup 2. Now lookin at it I am wondering if they sent me the wrong disc. The disc says that the software is already installed on your computer only use this dvd to reinstall the operating stystem on dell pc. But if I replaced both hard drives then software is not there. thanks
