Greetings, I recently encountered a 4 amber 1 White blinking code in my dell g5 5500. I was playing Ark at the time on a flat surface because I was just testing fps. After testing, as I close my laptop I saw the 4/1 light blinking near my charging port. I quickly re opened my Laptop as soon as I saw it was a battery problem. Once my Laptop is open, I went into the my dell app to check my battery's health. It was stated excellent although I was experiencing the 4/1 lighting. After a while, it went away and my battery is charging again. Can anyone please explain why this happened? I almost had a heart attack because I needed the laptop for school.
Batteries don't last very long now but most recent models can run with the battery removed and only the adapter connected and plugged into an outlet. Makes the laptop a desktop replacement. If your model's 1 yr warranty is still in effect, contact Dell for a replacement. Batteries are warrantied for one year of normal use. More info-- FAQ - Laptop battery articles - Dell Community
The battery meter is not accurate when the laptop is plugged into an outlet.
Thank you for the insight, I reopened my laptop today and the dell app still says the battery is at excellent health. I also usually don't exceed 70C in temps. Is there a chance this will happen again in the future? I live in the Philippines so it's hard to get parts from Dell.
