Aurora Hardware/Power Failure
Just wanted to share my recent experience. I think partially to ask questions but more just to vent, because I am so dumbfounded.
Ordered a new Aurora and it was delivered promptly. Was stable out of the box and had no issues...for one week.
After a week, the computer failed to boot. As in, you could press the power switch and there may have been a "click" at the back of the system near the power supply, but no further activity. So I assumed bad power supply, called Dell support, no problem. They shipped a new power supply and the tech came on site in a couple of days to replace it.
System still won't power up. Now we are waiting on a new MB and video card to be delivered so they can swap those out too. I had my previous Alienware desktop for 6 years and never had any major hardware issues. I can't believe I would have been shipped a lemon, but I guess that seems to have happened here. Is there anything else I can or should be doing for troubleshooting? I suppose replacing the power supply, MB and video card are pretty much it?
