Hoping someone here might be able to help with a solution I’ve driven myself nuts trying to get this to work.
2x U2419HC - CPU DP OUT -> Monitor 1 DP IN -> Monitor 1 DP OUT -> Monitor 2 DP IN.
Monitor 1 MST On. Monitor 2 MST Off.
Monitors are on and mirrored. When I go to Windows display settings, it only recognizes 1 monitor. There is no option to extend the monitors and I cannot find any solution on how to get windows to recognize the second monitor, or to extend the second monitor.
@lllw That's the correct setup for a daisy chain, but the behavior you're seeing of mirrored output between displays and the source system only seeing one display is what happens when you've got a daisy chain cabling setup but something in the setup doesn't support DisplayPort MST, which is required for daisy chaining. This has a few potential causes:
Not having MST enabled on the first display in the chain, which you've already checked.
Having some sort of adapter between the system and the first display that doesn't support DisplayPort MST passthrough. Some multi-purpose adapters don't support sending an MST signal. But it sounds like you've got a DisplayPort cable connected directly to a DisplayPort output on your system.
The source system itself not supporting DisplayPort MST.
So what are the details around your system or its GPU? It might not support MST.
