Possible to run an eGPU with a Precision 7560?

We are looking at running an eGPU (probably the Razer Core X) with an RTX 2080TI, on a Precision 7560 (with an Nvidia T1200).

Should this work?  The 7560 has two Thunderbolt 4 sockets but the Razer spec page says it requires "Thunderbolt external graphics". Is this sufficient?  (the statement implies this isn't true for all Thunderbolt 3/4)

The above might sound an odd combination but it will be used for CUDA dev. Yes the T1200 is more advanced but lacks the memory we need and the 2080 is available (the 2080's performance footprint is also closer to production hardware). We know an eGPU will be slower. Also it is okay if the displays are limited to the T1200, as long as I can access the eGPU from (my own) CUDA code. Adding CUDA code to explicitly select a GPU is also acceptable.
