I am getting ready to do a Clean Install of Windows 7 on my Dell XPS M1530.  My XPS M1530 was purchased in December of 2008 with Windows Vista (32-bit) installed.

When I ran the Microsoft Compatibility Program on my laptop there were issues identified, but it did state to check further with Dell for other compatibility issues due to any software programs that may have been installed by Dell (i.e. Web Cam, MediaDirect, Dell Dock, etc.).  My Quick Set information from Dell states under the field of:

64-bit Capable = YES

MY QUESTION:  If my OS system was originally set up by Dell as 32-bit with Windows Vista, will I be able to install Windows 7, 64-bit version since it shows "64-bit capable"?
