1. Replaced broken glass screen (digitizer).

2. Powered up the machine - but it does not boot into Windows.

3. I get a DELL splash screen and I can run diagnostic routines (everything runs fine). I can call up a command prompt and see the WINDOWS folder in the C:\ drive and all the contents. The touch screen works but it will not boot.

4. I called DELL multiple times - the only thing they know how to do is to a) tell me I'm out of warranty (I know that) and then b) transfer me to a different department. I have learned to just hang up after 5 transfers.

5. I downloaded ProduKey to pull the Microsoft Windows 25-character Key off the BIOS and wa sbale to do that.

6. Then I downloaded Boot files to a thumb drive and restarted the machine with the thumb drive installed. I wants to load Windows 8 at that point and prompts me for the Microsoft Windows Product Key. When I enter the 25-character Key I obtained in Step 5, I get an error message saying "The product key entered does not match any of the Windows images available for installation.".

7. I have already paid for the Windows 8.1 software on this machine. I just want to reload Windows. I do not need to retain the original files. I transferred them to removable media while the broken digitizer was still on the machine. During one of my calls to DELL, I asked if I could purchase Windows Recovery media. I was told they do not have "Recovery Kits" for Venue tablets.

8. I have the wall multiple times in this process. I find it incomprehensible that DELL cannot provide me the resources to simply reload the OS.

I would VERY MUCH appreciate any assistance.

Thank you.
