Experiencing FPS drops and thermal throttling on Dell system while gaming – any optimization tips?
Hi everyone,
I’ve been doing some gaming on my Dell system recently (mainly titles like Warzone and Hogwarts Legacy), and I’ve started noticing some performance issues that I can’t fully figure out. Initially, everything runs smoothly, but after about 20–30 minutes, I get noticeable FPS drops and the system seems to heat up quite a bit.
I’m using a setup with decent specs (i5/Ryzen equivalent, RTX 30-series GPU, 16GB RAM), so I was expecting more consistent performance. I’ve already tried lowering in-game settings, updating drivers, and closing background apps, but the issue still persists.
I’m wondering if this could be related to Dell’s thermal management, BIOS settings, or something like power profiles (like switching between balanced and performance modes). Has anyone here experienced something similar on a Dell machine?
Would really appreciate any advice on optimizing performance or keeping temperatures under control during longer gaming sessions. Thanks in advance!
