I have two things I have been trying to find information on. One - I had a D820 with a beautiful wuxga monitor I bough used. I died in a fall accident - but the monitor is still in A condition and is great for graphics work. I am either going to make it a desktop monitor with an after market kit - or look into buying an old D830 or D531 and try installing the top of the old D820 (I removed the entire top). Can anyone tell me if this would work? I suspect it would on the D830 - but D531s are very prevalent right now on the used market and most of the D830s out there are rough or low end. I love using this monitor for digital painting as the resolution is so dense I do not see the pixels so the digital art programs brushes look almost completely real - that is when using say a digital oil brush - spreading it around looks almost completely real - just better to do artwork on. I can live with less horsepower from an old system if I can cram at least 6 gigs of ram in it - which I understand can be done with a d820 and d531.

Second thing: I have an old D620atg that is in A ... A- condition. I like it but these develop the glue failure on the monitor. I am looking at using a product called Flex Seal to coat the outer edges to prevent the failure. I did a brief check and the Flex Seal should easily stand up to the temperatures and they claim it is chemical resistant in most cases. Has anyone ever thought of this and tried it? I like this little tank of a computer and would like to keep it like new.
