Deminsion 8400 with XP SP2.

 

I recently had an 'event' that toased my hard drive and one of my RAM memory sticks. I installed a new HD and new memory then reinstalled XP from my reinstallation disk. It seemed to be going well until I tried to connect the PC to my cable modem for internet connection. I can get no connection via the ethernet cable connection. I can get it to connect via a USB connection and also via a wireless PCI-E card I took out of another machine.

 

When I go to Device Manager, under Other Devices, Ethernet Controller,  in Properties General Tab the Device status shows:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.

 

Under Resources tab it says:

This device isn't using any resources because it has a problem.

 

There are 6 devices listed in Device Manager under Other Devices:

Ethernet Controller

Multimedia Audio Controller

Multimedia Audio Controller

PCI Modem

Video Controller

Video Controller (VGA Compatable)

 

All 6 devices show pretty much the same info. When I try to get Windows to locate and install drivers for any of these 6 devices it can't find drivers. Where can I find drivers for these devices? Thanks for any help!
