About 2 weeks ago, after an electrical surge in my house, Dell replaced my motherboard and updated my bios (Hurray for complete care!).  My sound card (Sigma Tel C Major) is not being recognized by the system.  I have no sound.  I have removed the device in the device manager, rebooted and let the system find the "new" hardware.  I have ATTEMPTED to download and re-install the drivers from the Dell web sight, but that will not complete without giving me an error.

I'm at a loss.  Do I call Dell again?  The last time I talked to Tech Support they told me it was a software problem and that I would have to re-format and start over! 

Any suggestions?
