Inspiron 1420 video problems
Hi!
I have an Inspiron 1420 with an nVidia 8400M GS video card.
About a week ago I started getting "snowflakes" on my screen while running fullscreen games (world of warcraft)
Windows update recommended an upgrade of my drivers and it has gone downhill since then.
My computer will only boot in SVGA adapter mode. I can adjust the resolution to what I used to have but the nvidia card is no longer showing.
If I try to install any drivers (I've tried 3 versions), the computer reboots and the screen goes black shortly after the window with the green left to right startup shows.
I then have to manually powerdown my system and run the startup restore which allows me to reboot.
I reinstalled windows from scratch which didn't help.
I then spent 2 hours with Dell support this AM which didn't fix anything.
Can someone help?
