Being a loyal Dell customer (I only buy Dell and recommend them to everyone), I was looking forward to the release of Dell's first 17" laptop for a while now, figuring that they would match all the features of their top competitors like HP and Gateway... but after seeing the specs, it seems that they haven't.  The main difference for me being the separated numeric keypad... because, hey, why not make use of the extra real estate as HP and Gateway do?  My thinking says that a 17" laptop is gonna be used mainly by people who aren't gonna carry it around much and are heavy business users who could surely make use of the keypad.  I'm not a number cruncher who uses a lot of spreadsheets, but I definitely find my office computer's standard keyboard and keypad handy...

 

To any Dell reps... any reason why the decision was made to NOT include the keypad?  Just wondering...
