Hi,

 

i have a problem with my Inspiron 8500. When in its APR the POST hangs at about 80% some of the time (Usually Fast Post).

Once restarted the extended POST happens automatically and the unit starts OK. I Have Bios revision A05 which i think is the latest.

I have this feeling its the DVD RW seems to stop just after the access light comes on. I could unplug it and only connect when needed or always use the extended POST but i shouldnt need to.

Any Suggestion or Known fix's

Inspiron 8500 2.4Ghz, 516mB, 60GB HDD, BlueTooth, WiFi, XP Pro.

APR. connected to it Sony Monitor (DVI), Freecom DVD Writer FX50 (USB), HP Scanner (USB),D Dock Floppy (USB), Printer (Parrallel Port), Mouse, Keyboard, Powered Speakers,  Home Network (RJ45).

In the D Dock is either a spare battery, HDD or DVD-CDRW
