Graphics cards for 3007WFP-HC -- Suggestions needed
I am getting a 3007wfp-hc, and trying to decide if I need a new graphics card (and what model) to go with it. From the monitor specification, it needs a dual-link PCI-e interface to run at its maximum native resolution of 2560x1600. My system came with a GeForce 7350 LE installed on a PCI-e slot, but I couldn't find the specifications of this card though I have done my homework searching the web. No documentation for this card came with the system. Looking at the connector did not reveal the type of the board, as all the pin holes are metalized. I guessed that it is just a general type connector used for both single- and dual-link cards. Any ideas? Assuming that it is a single-link card, I need to buy a dual-link one. With so many cards on the market, I got lost as to which one would be good enough for my applications. I do have some knowledge about graphics card specifications, but my practical experience in choosing a right one is very limited. For example, should I weigh more on clock speed or amount of memory at roughly equal price? The machine is not for gaming, but rather, for routine work such as word processing, web browsing, image editing (with Photoshop), and web design. The horse power should also be sufficient for playing DVD movies (smoonthly) on this particular monitor. I prefer not to run a too hgih budget, but something moderately more than adequate will be fine. I would appreciate any inputs. Thanks.
