I received a Dell S2421NX monitor from my employer roughly one year ago to use with my Dell laptop. In order to work from two screens, I got a Dell port replicator from my employer and I purchased a new S2421NX from Dell two weeks ago. I purchased the exact same make and model in order to have the same vision on both.

** The screens, however, have completely different color shading and it is not possible to use both at the same time.**

Having read into this, it seems that one screen has low blue light while the other does not. I have tried calling Dell a number of times and have yet to get through (always waiting >15 mins). Then I emailed Technical Support to ask if there's a way of adjusting the colors on one of the screens so that they're the same. All I have received back is automated emails suggesting that I troubleshoot the monitor and check for physical damage! I then reached out to the sales function via the online chat and I was told that I would receive a call back but never have.

I'm very disappointed with the whole experience. Firstly, buying two of the same device should not create a problem. Secondly, the service I have received has been terrible. If I need to buy another new screen to match the one with low blue light, then I would like a significant discount off the purchase price as I would not have bought the first one if I knew I would have this problem.

Any new S2421NX purchased will have the latest firmware. The later revisions of the S2421NX have ComfortView Low Blue Light built into them. So no need to list ComfortView in the OSD Menu.

Your S2421NX were built a year apart and built in different locations.

There are no downloadable firmware updates.

You will have to use the OSD Menu- Custom Color on both S2421NX to try to get a closer match. Or use a 3rd party colorimeter to calibrate the colors.

Thanks for the response Chris. I imagine you didn't come up with the concept so I mean no offence but  surely you can understand how crazy this seems?? - I buy the exact same make and model of something from Dell but yet they're totally different. Does Dell expect me to ask where the monitor was built and what version firmware it has before I buy it?? I avoid all that complication by buying the exact same product

I have tried custom colour settings but the screens are still much too different. So, at this point, I have 2 options - either I can return the screen I just bought or buy another new one so that I have two matches. Who do I speak to about buying a new one? I think it's understandable that I want a discount if I'm going to buy another screen in these circumstances.

Hello there Harveyro, I'm the individual who posted the discussion post you referenced at the start. While I may be no community manager or equivalent, I can help you out a bit on your issue. Since making my original post, I've tried a myriad of Dell Series S monitors and found that regardless (Various sizes, models, and years made like S2721 NX, HN, etc.), all newly manufactured monitors have the LBL (or yellow tint) problem. Any box which has the LBL featured on its side advertising the monitor's features, is a new model. It would seem against all logic, newer monitors were built with the LBL setting permanently on instead of it being something to be toggled on and off like the older monitors. While I'm not one to spread negativity, if LBL truly is a deal breaker, return the monitor and completely move on to a different brand than DELL for monitors. It has been for me unfortunately, after having to try and return 5 different monitors with all having the same problem and minimal clarification from DELL, that I threw in the towel. DELL just doesn't make monitors like they used to, literally. On top of that, there are no signs of them ever reverting the monitors like they were.
